OMG

So Mr. Carter is releasing his 11th album soon. It's gonna be called blueprint 3. I'm super excited because I've loved him forever and I think he's still got it. I just heard the first leaked track called "jockin' jay-z". I've never had such a strong reaction while hearing a song for the first time. This shit is MAJOR. It was produced by my other favorite rapper, Kanye West, and this is surely one of his sickest beats thus far ( aside from "lucifer" off the black album)Quite possibly the sickest thing I've ever heard. I especially loves how he brags about his wife. He is the effing man.
Take a listen.
If you don't love this, we can never be friends
* ignore the random video footage, just listen up.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MADONNA!!!

Nobody loves you more than me.

No body's perfect

It's true. That's why I named this blog "perfect imperfection". I've spent countless hours of my 18 years on this earth trying to find a way to become (physically) perfect. It's been exhausting and for the most part quite counter-productive. Not everyone can be conventionally "pretty", many would say I'm not. Actually, I have quite large features that often get compared to a llama or giraffe. But everyone has their own opinion as to what constitutes as pretty. Its all subjective bullshit. I've noticed that the things we find beautiful in others we usually find to be unattractive in ourselves. I have plenty of friends with beautiful curvy bodies, yet there are days when I look at my own curves and curse the day I hit puberty. Looking at other women really puts shit in perspective for me.

There is absolutely nothing conventionally pretty about Ms. Carrie Bradshaw, yet how many of us look up to her? There was always something so sexy about SJP in this role. Carrie always carried (haha, pardon the pun) herself in such a confident manner. That's where her beauty and sexiness stemmed from. Realistically, her nose is like twice the size of mine. Perhaps I should stop bitching about mine then.

Enough about faces, on to below-the-neck beauty. The art of air-brushing and photoshopping are gifts and curses. A gift if you're a celebrity. A curse if you're the one looking at an image of an air- brushed or photoshopped celebrity. Most of us fall into the latter category.

Lets start with my dearest Aggy. In my eyes she has always been complete and utter PERFECTION. Then I came across these pics taken while she was shooting her very first full- on nude photos for POP magazine. These are candids so we can excuse the stupid looks on her face, but take a good look at her body. As thin as she is, this woman is not toned at all. I won't say she looks BAD naked, just like a normal girl with normal "problem areas".

And then there's Rihanna. I believe my contempt for this girl started from the fact that she and I look quite similar,(short dark hair, same skin color, same height) but I felt she was basically a prettier version of me with a better body. Also, my boyfriend pretty much considers her a goddess. Then I found this pic of her on a beach with no make-up or re-touching and then I realized that not only does she look a lot more normal sans make-up,
but our bodies are ridiculously similar;thinner on top with thicker thighs and legs. We probably wear the same size.

The list of imperfect celebs is never-ending, but you get the point. Nobody is perfect and most importantly no body is perfect. So I guess we should all suck it up and work with what we've been given. Of course, we're all entitled to a little self- loathing every once and a while, but lets not make it a habit. K??

in·spi·ra·tion (ĭn'spə-rā'shən) noun:Divine guidance or influence exerted directly on the mind and soul of humankind.

This is my first post, so I figured I'd talk about the one thing that my life revolves around. INSPIRATION. When it comes to fashion, I get inspired by everything and everyone I see. My biggest inspirations are...
Vargas pin-up girls
Classic femininty+timeless sexuality= AMAZING. These chicks make me want to curl my hair with rollers and rock pumps and short shorts.

Black beauty

The July 2008 issue of Vogue Italia featured all BLACK models. Some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen.

I'm usually pretty annoyed by Tyra, but she looks stunning in this African- style head wrap.
